The antique shop of spices in Venice

I have always loved this store, the colors and the interesting history that lives there.

The name is Antica Drogheria da Mascari, located in what was the economic heart of the city of Venice. Antica Drogheria Mascari is the oldest food specialty store in the historic center of Venice. The store is located on Calle degli Spezieri (street of the spice merchants) near the Rialto Bridge.

Quality and passion make the store a milestone for anyone looking for spices, truffles, tea, dried mushrooms and balsamic vinegar by grass or liter, things that today are not found anywhere else in the city.

The store offers a wide variety of the best products of traditional Italian cuisine and is one of the most popular destinations for countless tourists looking for genuine Italian products.

The tradition started by Luciano and his wife Sonia in 1948 and it is continued today by his two sons, Gabriele and Gino, with the same commitment and dedication.

Rialto was the place where not only merchandise wandered but also everyday characters such as fishermen, fruit sellers and well known names such as Giacomo Casanova, Carlo Goldoni etc.

When I see this store, I let myself be dominated by the past, the smell of these spices, the aroma of spices are part of my childhood memory.
